Stephen King, an author who has written such classics as Carrie, The Green Mile, and The Shawshank Redemption, does a wonderful job in his book, On Writing, combing the best of autobiography and simple “how-to” wisdom to give advice to writers at all levels. His writing is easy, fun, helpful, and at times profound. I especially found his advice on the mechanics of writing, those top tools in a writer’s toolbox, both insightful and practical. I look forward to putting his advice to the test in my own writing! I would recommend this book to anyone looking to sharpen his or her craft, or just about anyone looking for a good read and some interesting insight into the life of someone who has had such an impact on the entertainment culture of today.
